Another week

Well, I definitely don’t post as much as I used to on this site. Life has been very busy. The week gone by, I worked around 61 hours, so if I wasn’t working I was tired and half asleep, but am slowly trying to get a rhythm in place so I can study more.

I have slowly been working on another rebuttal to Eckhart Tolle and his new age belief. I usually wouldn’t take the time to reply to people to hold to these beliefs, but Mr. Tolle feels the need to attempt and integrate the truths found in the Bible with his false belief system. So my attempt is to ensure people know that the Bible is not to be twisted to fit someone’s false beliefs.

Also for anyone who likes much, try searching for a group called “Glory Bound”. A very good group.

I will end this now and pray that all is well, and never forget, God is sufficient in all things.

I Was Blind But Now I See

I heard this song on the radio a couple of days ago and absolutely loved it. It opens up reminding us all of the Sovereignty of God in our Salvation and continues on with wonderful words. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Words To Think About…

This first thing to remember, of course, is that we must never separate the benefits (regeneration, justification, sanctification) from the Benefactor (Jesus Christ). The Christians who are most focused on their own spirituality may give the impression of being the most spiritual … but from the New Testament’s point of view, those who have almost forgotten about their own spirituality because their focus is so exclusively on their union with Jesus Christ and what He has accomplished are those who are growing and exhibiting fruitfulness. Historically speaking, whenever the piety of a particular group is focused on OUR spirituality that piety will eventually exhaust itself on its own resources. Only where our piety forgets about ourself and focuses on Jesus Christ will our piety nourished by the ongoing resources the Spirit brings to us from the source of all true piety, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Coming Back

Just thought I’d drop a quick line to let any visitors know that I am coming back. I am planning to have some articles lined up for tomorrow God willing. I also plan to announce atleast 2 new projects that will be taking place and will be displayed through this blog. One will be an extensive series covering a Current New Age teaching, while the other will be a joint project covering the topics of Answering Synergism and Defending Monergism. Still here…just busy

Well It is now Friday, May 2nd, 2008. I haven’t had a chance to post much lately, and I apologize to anyone who has been reading this site. Life has been very busy lately, and tomorrow is the day I share vows with the girl I love.

So just a heads up to why I’m quiet, and please do keep coming back.

I have just started watching this series, and enjoy both sides of the debate. I’ve yet to finish it, but would like to recommend it to anyone who is interested in the study of Evolution/Creation; and what the Bible truly says on the issue.

POT AND TORCH:

To any of you who have consistently visited this site, it has become very apparent, that the schedule I have wanted to follow, simply has not happened. So instead, let’s think of the list of topics as interests that will be touched on at Pot and Torch.

With me switching to a new job and Wedding plans busy in the works, it’s hard to keep up to this site like I would like to.

I have started to read “Van Till’s Apologetics” book, and am going to attempt to do a chapter by chapter review of the book on here. Perhaps also another book I am reading called “Reformed Doctrine of Predestination” Lorraine Boettner. (spell his name right?)

To everyone visiting, and writing, thank you for the support and input. I great appreciate it. To all, please continue to visit, and remember, all glory belongs to God.

Remembering Matt.

Name: Matthew Harris

Birthdate: January 25, 1986

I was planning an article for today as usual, but I haven’t been able to concentrate after hearing the news of a High school friend dying on Friday, as he was working on his car.

I have not received much information, but do know that he was a very nice guy, and this is affecting me more then I thought it would.

Matthew grew up within a Baptist church, and would have claimed to have been a Christian. At the time of his death, he had a great interest in joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

I along with others will greatly miss Matt. You were a great guy, always nice and cheerful.

My prayers and may your prayers too go out to Matthew’s family as they grieve the lose of a grandson, cousin, uncle, brother and son.

God willing an article will be published later on today, on the subject “Defending Monergism”, but if you know Matthew and have anymore thoughts you wish to share, please do so.

In Peace let me resign my breath

New Schedule

 

Hello there, and to all readers of this blog, thank you for coming back again and again.

I felt I should write this out, to let all visitors know what the plan is for this site.

A schedule has been developed for Pot and Torch. This way you can know what to expect to a degree, and can tell friends too, if they wish to visit the site on a certain day to read up on a special topic.

This schedule is subject to change, but I will let you know. As of right now, this schedule should remain for a good period of time. I pray it helps you, and that the topics as well may become useful.

The schedule will take affect on Sunday.

It has been a couple days since I have posted. I was having issues with my Internet connection so I apologize for anyone that has been visiting on a daily basis.
